Patna Court Extends Protection From Arrest for Educator Khan Sir Until June 30 in Coaching Institute Firing Case
A Patna court has extended protection from arrest for educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, until June 30 in the coaching institute firing case. The updated case diary has been submitted, arguments are scheduled for the next hearing, and the court's order restraining coercive action will remain in effect until then.
The case stems from a firing incident that took place in early June after Khan Sir's coaching institute was allegedly vandalised by a group of miscreants. According to the case, his security guards are accused of opening fire during the incident. Khan Sir was subsequently named in the First Information Report, following which the court granted him protection from arrest on June 9.
During Saturday's hearing, the investigating officer submitted the updated case diary before the court. After reviewing the submission, the court deferred arguments in the matter until Tuesday, June 30.
Speaking to reporters, Khan Sir's lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mouar, said the updated case diary had been filed by the investigating officer and the matter had been listed for arguments on Tuesday. He added that the court's order directing that no coercive action be taken against Khan Sir would remain in force until the next hearing. According to the lawyer, the final hearing in the matter is expected to take place on that day.
Mouar further stated that the case involving Khan Sir's security guards, which is linked to the same incident, has also been listed for hearing on Tuesday.
He also said that Khan Sir has been cooperating with the police and the investigating officers throughout the investigation.
The continuation of protection from arrest ensures that no coercive action will be taken against Khan Sir until the court hears detailed arguments on June 30, when further legal proceedings in the coaching institute firing case are expected to determine the next course of action.
